Austin Dorris, TE, Shadeyside HS, Shadyside, OH, 247 Sports Composite Ranking: 3-Star
Dorris committed to Coach Wilson and the Hoosiers back on June 22nd. He was named to the All-Ohio Division VII Team after a successful senior season at quarterback for the Tigers, where accumulated 1,400 rushing yards, 1,000 passing yards and 31 total TDs. However, when Dorris reports for duty next fall, it won’t be at quarterback, but at tight end for the Hoosiers. At 6-foot 5, 230 pounds, Dorris will provide Hoosier quarterbacks with a large, athletic target in the coming years, very similar to former Hoosier and Ohio native Ted Bolser. Despite seeing the return of four players to the position next fall, Dorris could push for time, especially if he is able to add some strength and work on his blocking before he gets to campus. In the 2015 class, Dorris is the 51st best tight end nationally and the 60th ranked player in the state of Ohio. The three-star prospect held offers from Air Force, Buffalo, Colgate, Marshall, Miami (OH), Ohio, Toledo, and Western Michigan.
