Peyton Hendershot, 6’4”, 227, Lizton, IN (Tri-West), Tight End, 247Sports Composite Ranking: 3-star (85.16)

Despite a late visit to Penn State, in-state prospect Peyton Hendershot has officially signed with the Indiana Hoosiers. The tenth-rated prospect from the state is a terrific athlete that excelled at football and basketball at Tri-West High School. Hendershot comes to Indiana known as more of a receiving threat at the tight end position and he joins a position group hoping new offensive coordinator Mike DeBord emphasizes the tight ends as pass catchers more than the previous offensive administration did.

The Hoosiers are deep at the position with seniors Danny Friend and Ian Thomas, redshirt junior Jordan Fuchs, redshirt sophomore Austin Dorris and redshirt freshman Shaun Bonner but it’s very possible the talented incoming freshman catches the eye of DeBord and passing game coordinator Grant Heard and earns himself some snaps.
