Cronk is an offensive tackle from Lafayette, IN. He took an official visit to IU back in the beginning of December and committed on December 14th. Cronk has offers from nine other schools including Vanderbilt, Iowa State, Ball State, Miami (OH), and Illinois. According to 247’s composite rankings, he is the 48th best offensive tackle in the nation and the 6th best player in Indiana.
Indiana’s offense did exceedingly well this past season, thanks to its strong offensive line. This year they bring in four new offensive tackles, including Cronk, in hopes to continue the reputation of a strong line. With a new quarterback in place, due to graduation of Nate Sudfeld, it will be important to provide him with all the protection he can get. Cronk, 6-5 and 272 pounds, could become a great asset to the protection of the quarterback.
In his senior year, Cronk played as linebacker as well as offensive lineman. He helped his team go on to win the Indiana Class A state championship. Coach Greg Frey has the ability to make him into a stellar lineman and he has great potential here at Indiana.
