On Thursday August 1st, Jailin Walker spoke to the media after the start of Indiana’s fall camp. After recovering from offseason surgery, Walker is excited to be back and playing football again. Walker did not practice during Spring Camp, but still showed up and has become a leader in his new program. During the offseason, his teammates would refer to him as Coach J Walk due to him being on the sidelines and coaching up some of the players.

The Indiana football team will not be going home for Christmas in 2020, but that does not mean Christmas is canceled. The Hoosiers are in the middle of preparing for the Outback Bowl against Ole Miss and while the Rebels may be allowed to travel, the Hoosiers have to stay in their bubble. IU had their final two weeks canceled due to a COVID-19 outbreak within the program and aren’t taking any chances on it happening again.

There’s been some turnover and inconsistency from the linebacker position for Indiana the past couple years. Players like Cam Jones, James Miller, and Aaron Casey were new to full-time linebacking responsibilities in 2019 after serving in mostly backup roles prior, and at times it showed. But with a strong core of experienced players returning in 2020, Tom Allen and defensive coordinator Kane Wommack have challenged the linebackers to take the next step. This year, they feel they have a group full of impact players.
