Jameel Cook, Safety, Missouri City, TX, 247 Sports Composite Ranking 3-Star
Despite being committed to the Terrapins since last June, the talented Texas native decided to give the Hoosiers a closer look by taking an official visit to Bloomington this weekend. In the day and age of smart phones and social media, it was fairly obvious that Cook was having a good time during his trip to the capital of Hoosier Nation.
Cook had a strong senior season for Texas’ North Ridge High School, recording 50 tackles, four passes defensed, and two forced fumbles per MaxPreps.com. He brings great speed to the safety position and demonstrates an ability to make open field tackles on his Hudl highlight tape.
While the 6-foot 1, 190 athlete might only be listed as a two-star prospect according to Rivals.com, his offer list clearly indicates otherwise. In addition to Indiana and Maryland, Cook also received scholarship offers from Arizona State, Colorado, Colorado State, Illinois, Iowa State, Kentucky, Memphis, Minnesota, Missouri, UTSA and Utah.
He is the son of former NFL fullback and Super Bowl Champion, Jameel Cook Sr. His brother, Remus Bulmer, is a running back prospect currently committed to Sam Houston State.
