Signing Day 2015: Jacob Robinson
/Written By Nick Holmes (@HoosierHolmes)
Jacob Robinson, DE, Westfield HS, Westfield, IN, 247 Sports Composite Ranking: 3-Star
Robinson was the Hoosiers’ first pledge on the defensive side of the ball in the 2015 class when he committed to Coach Wilson and his staff on May 9th. The Westfield athlete recorded 58 total tackles, four sacks, and two passes defensed during his senior campaign, leading to his inclusion on the 2014 Associated Press Indiana All-State Class 5A Team. Robinson brings great size to the Hoosiers defense at 6-foot 4, 230 pounds. His combination of speed and size provides the Hoosiers’ coaching staff with some flexibility, as he could see time at either defensive end or at the Bandit position. In his junior highlight tape, operating mostly as a 5-technique defensive end, Robinson plays with great energy, has a relentless motor and is a hard hitter. He also has good balance and is great in pursuit of ball carriers. Robinson will be representing the Hoosiers in Dallas, Texas this week, as he was selected for the International Bowl. In the 2015 class, Robinson is the 49th best weak-side defensive end nationally and is the 17th best player in the state of Indiana. In addition to Indiana, he has offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Illinois, Minnesota, Northwestern, Purdue, Toledo, Wake Forest, Western Michigan, and Wisconsin.
