Signing Day 2015: Austin King

Austin King, QB, Alpharetta HS, Alpharetta, GA, 247 Sports Composite Ranking: 3-Star
King became a member of the #CrimsonArmy15 on December 15th, less than 24 hours after de-committing from North Carolina State. The talented gunslinger had a strong senior season for the Raiders, passing for 2,370 yards, 20 touchdowns, and just seven interceptions, which earned him honorable mention recognition on the Georgia Sports Writers Association All-State Football Team. King has a quick release and shows good arm strength, mechanics, and footwork in his senior highlights. He also gets the ball to his playmakers in stride and can make throws on the move. And although not much of a running threat, King has shown the ability to extend plays with his legs. While he will be expected to arrive on campus ready to compete for playing time, there’s a good chance he’ll redshirt his first season at Indiana, as the Hoosiers see the return of four scholarship quarterbacks. In the 2015 class, King is the 29th ranked pro-style quarterback nationally and the 84th best player in the state of Georgia according to 247 sports. In addition to Indiana and North Carolina State, King had offers from Harvard, South Florida, Toledo, Troy, and UCF, among others.
