Indiana Hoosier head coach Kevin Wilson pronounced Friday that defensive end David Kenney has taken a leave of absence from the team for personal reasons. “At this time David needs a break from Indiana University. We will continue to support David and wish him nothing but the best. There is no timetable for his return and we will not comment any further” Wilson said in a press release.

Kenney, part of the Hoosiers touted 2013 recruiting class, played in seven games as a freshman and made nine tackles. Hoosier coaches had big expectations for Kenney after a great spring and it would be a major blow to the defensive line depth if he does not return in time for the start of the season.
